The Philharmonic Wind Orchestra was founded to promote wind band music, and to push the boundaries of repertoire. We do this through collaboration with local and international musicians and conductors, and through education and outreach activities. We have over the last 25 years championed Singaporean musicians and composers. We have premiered new works and provided opportunities locally, through our Singapore Compose concert series, and internationally, through our participation in competitions and concert showcases.
As an arts charity, our musicians also support national efforts to provide access to the arts and to encourage participation through our outreach activities. We support social causes and work with organizations such as Pathlight School, Yellow Ribbon, and Children’s Charities Association to bring the joy of music to their beneficiaries. Over the last three years, we have offered other charities and underserved communities hundreds of free tickets to our concerts.
We believe in the importance of arts in strengthening society and, with your support, you can help us to bridge more communities, and forge a stronger national identity. No matter how small of a donation, it will go a long way in helping us to inspire more audience, and give us the courage to be one of the best community wind orchestras in the region!
